Check Your Facts!

I hate this time of year.  I get dozens of emails everyday from one person or another bashing every republican and democratic candidate with a bunch of hearsay. Why is it that people feel the need to pass on every bit of rumor just in case it might be true.  Would you want your neighbors spreading complete untruths about you through the community on the slight chance that some part of the rumor may be true?

Elections should be judged on where the candidates stand on the issues.  What is most important is what you believe will benefit our country the most, not a bunch a hooey sent around through email with no one fact checking anything.

Just so you know; Obama is not a Muslim, Palin did not cut special needs funding in Alaska, McCain does not plan on cutting social security, etc.  So please before you send out that email claiming that Biden and McCain have had a secret homosexual affair for the last 10 years do some homework.  Make sure that email you father-in-law sent you is true BEFORE you forward it to your whole address book.

I am not saying you shouldn’t tell people what you think about the elections.  I am all for you spreading what is good about the candidate you support or what you dislike about the candidate you will not be voting for, but please make sure what you tell others is truthful. When you don’t, it just makes you look bad not the candidates.
